4. Martin Luther King Jr. was the youngest man to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in the civil rights movement.
5. He entered college at the tender age of 15 in 1944.
6. King's "I Have A Dream"speech held at the Lincoln Memorial was at the time one of the largest demonstration in Washington history. More than 250,000 people attended the speech. It was such a powerful speech.
7. He delivered his first national address at the monument, where he spoke on the topic of voting right.
8. Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested many time during his protects for Civil rights.
9. He was the first African American to be granted a national holiday.
10. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is celebrated on January because his birthday is in January.
